20. 20,000 Volt Filament Transformer Using Traditional Dielectric Isolation
There is still a place for traditional transformers for voltages below around 20,000 volts since they can be more compact and can also operate in air. This transformer is a simple design that combines a combination of standard dieletrics and high voltage wire. This particular transformer is configured as a Royer oscillator to generate a low voltage AC square wave to drive the filament.
