22. 500 kV Load and 100,000: 1 Voltage Divider
The 170,000 volt multiplier connected to a 100,000 to 1 voltage divider and load for preliminary testing. The torus hat on the right is rated to 500,000 volts and rests on a salad bowl that makes the cable connection. The support pillar has a mesh shield enclosing the load and divider mounted in a separate internal pillar.
