37. RTW X-Ray Tube Under Test
Previous work is never forgotten and is often re-purposed. In this case, the two prototype 25,000 volt x-ray power supplies (see pictures below from 2012) have been adapted to operate a new x-ray tube developed by RTW. The tube is mounted in a bronze shielding enclosure. The filament and high voltage wires exit through a copper 90 degree swept elbow with lead tape over the wires at the point of exit. The assembly is located inside of the white plastic protective cover. Note the Geiger counter in from of the cover. |
