49. EN-11 High Voltage Life Test

The fixture above uses parallel surfaces with a controlled spacing in order to perform accelerated life testing of encapsulation materials. This particular material is EN-11 (commercially known as Conathane) which is a commonly used polyurethane for encapsulating high voltage systems. In this particular test for the PIXL instrument, 35,000 volts is applied across the sample.
