112. MMS High Voltage Opto-Coupler
Test
Special opto-couplers are used for high voltage slewing in many space
plasma research applications. These opto-couplers use LED’s in
combination with photo-sensitive high voltage diodes that can be
operated as optically activated current sources. Battel Engineering has
developed special opto-couplers (not for MMS) with Voltage Multipliers
Inc. that can be used in applications up to +/-12 kV.
