114. High Voltage Cable Noise Coupling
Test
The high voltage cable shown in the picture is a special silicone 20 kV
type developed by Teledyne-Reynolds. It has a semi-conductive external
coating applied to the surface of the cable for field control in lieu of
an external braided shield. Battel Engineering is working with
Teledyne-Reynolds to develop flight qualified cables with external
coatings for space applications where shielding or DC field control is
required.
