129. High Voltage Opto-Coupler Screening Setup
High voltage opto-couplers require special screening and life tests to
assure that they will operate properly in the space environment. Unlike
typical electrical parts that are screened based on Activation Energy,
high voltage opto-couplers are compound devices that also have unique
mechanical integration life factors in combination with electrical
breakdown acceleration factors. As such, they are subject to much more
complex reliability drivers requiring a combination of acceleration
testing and flight-specific application testing.
