194. Hubble Spectrograph
Power Converter
View of the flight Low Voltage Power Converter (LVPC) unit developed for
the Hubble Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS). This instrument was
developed by CASA at the University of Colorado for NASA and is planned
to be installed on the Hubble Space Telescope during its next servicing
mission.
The LVPC and the associated dual High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) unit are “build to print” copies of units developed for the FUSE mission. The FUSE power supplies, also built by Battel Engineering under contract to UC Berkeley, have been operating since launch in June 1999.
